No visible maker’s mark (some feint traces suggesting it may be a Runkel made sword). The grip wire surface gone (common as not very strong). A British heavy cavalry officer’s dress sword, not an undress (battle) sword but hey, a famous / important British cavalry officer who fought at Waterloo may well have owned and held this sword. Strangely, the blade has a period looking nick to the cutting edge.
The 30 inch single central fuller blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. Hilt with some age and wear. Grip down to base spiraled / grooved wood.
Who knows?! Just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number ZZ90. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1795-103x15x14 (1.268)
