The 32 1/4 inch plain pipe back, quill pointed blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt and grip. The stunningly ornate gilt on brass hilt / guard is in very good condition. The ribbed ivory grip with a pleasing yellowing is in good condition but with typical hairline ivory cracks. The fine brass twisted grip wire bindings are good, a couple of strands have gone astray but which can, with care, be corrected. The leather and brass scabbard is a little aged but good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
These don’t come onto the market very often, especially not in such good condition and priced below market value, just £750. Please quote item reference ZZ40. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1693-98x15x14 (1.520)
