This is an antique, traditionally made, fine Sumatran / Maduran Sumenep Naga / Serpent Keris / Kris from Indonesia. Not a modern copy / version / reproduction.
The unsheathed keris is 42cm long. The superb slender serpent’s 9 luk (number of curves) 33cm tail blade with finale is in top condition and firm in the hilt. The exceptionally well carved hardwood hilt / grip is in very good condition. The well carved sheath has a glued repair (rejoining the two sheath parts), a common occurrence. The keris sheathes and draws well.
