George VI Royal Cypher, no maker’s or retailer’s name etched to the forte / ricasso, no brass proof slug means almost certainly made during World War Two.

The 34 3/4 inch nicely grey (gray) etched blade bearing George VI cypher and Royal Artillery name / emblem (lightening / thunder bolts) is in good condition but with light patches of patina. Blade firm in the hilt / grip. Likely faux fishskin grip in good condition (some wear and “shrinkage” away from one side under the back piece); twisted grip wire bindings in good order. Leather field service scabbard with some age / wear / light scrapes is nonetheless good. Sword sheathes and draws well.
Very nice example at a very low price, just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference ZZ26. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1667-109x15x14 (1.605).
