Serial number 17048. Etched at the ricasso (forte) to Jones Chalk & Dawson 6 Sackville Street London. Engraved on the hilt to the officer “B. W. Johns, Mons O.C.S. 1954”; Mons OCS meaning Mons Officer Cadet School. So, research able.



The 32 1/2 inch slim blade has some patina / age but is in generally good condition and firm in the hilt / grip. The plated hilt generally good but with speckled patches of small rust spots coming through the plating. Grip good but with wear. Twisted grip wire bindings are good. Leather sword knot is good generally but coming away / apart at the acorn. Leather field service scabbard, frog and straps aged and worn but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well. The leather carry bag has lost the hood section and is aged.
