Acid silver tested (very high silver content, blood red result indicates 92%+). True Silver Burmese Shan Dai Dha, the “Dai” is important as it is the style with the Lotus bud pommel; many dealers sell lesser Shan Dhas as Shan Dai Dha, but if they do not have the lotus bud pommel, they are not. This and a standard Silver Burmese Shan Dha were bought back after WW2 from Burma (Myanmar) by a British Intelligence Officer.
The 19 1/4 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the grip. The silver work to the grip / hilt and scabbard has original bluing plus tarnish and some looseness but is overall good for its age; there is one silver section missing to the scabbard (see photos). The dha sheathes and draws well. 32 Inches overall when fully sheathed.
Look, let’s not beat about the bush; these sell for a thousand Great British pounds sterling elsewhere. But here, you can buy this dha for just was £? (too late, now sold). Are we good or what? Please quote item reference ZZ06. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box n/a
