A previous owner has over cleaned / buffed this, an authentic 1804P RN cutlass; we / you can tell by the pitting etc. that this cutlass is around 200 years old. There is what seems to be the remains of a British acceptance / view crown mark, but nothing else of the likely markings left remaining. The price below reflects the brightened condition; it is possible to age (add patina to) such items, just ask Google!
The 26 3/4 inch mechanically brightened blade is in sound condition and firm in the hilt. The figure of eight buffed bright steel guard / hilt is also sound. The “pineapple” steel grip is very cleaned and in good order. Scabbard absent.
