Etched to “J & B Pearce & Co, 28 Floral St, Covent Garden, W.C” to the ricasso / forte; they were London based uniform clothiers and contractors during WW1.
Includes sword, leather combined field service & dress scabbard, original sword knot and carry bag (hood detatched).
The well etched 32 3/8 inch length blade is in very good condition, a few small patina spots, and firm in the hilt. The plated steel hilt / guard in very good condition also. The black fishskin grip is very good, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. The original sword knot is aged but sound. The scabbard is good but the plated steel chape has some small rust bubbles. The black carry bag is aged and the hood has detatched from the body. The sword sheathes and draws well.
