No maker’s name to the blade but the supreme Mole quality is evident, and confirmed by the M7207 serial number to the blade’s spine (Mole indexed their serial numbers with “M” of course), plus the unmistakable starburst brass proof slug used by this highest of quality makers (many say better than Wilkinson Sword). In as new condition in our book; you certainly will not find a better quality / condition 1912P in our opinion. Both plated steel dress and leather field service scabbards; the later with straps. The thistle sword knot indicating this sword was destined for service with an officer of a Scottish cavalry regiment (think The Royal Scots Greys).
NB Robert Mole was bought out by Wilkinson Sword in 1920 and thereafter stopped making swords in the Mole name.
The supremely well grey etched 34 3/4 inch blade is in excellent condition and firm in the hilt. The bowl guard and hilt generally are also in tip top condition. The fishskin grip with the slightest of wear, mostly in the thumb groove. The twisted grip wire bindings are very good. The thistle acorn sword knot is a tad aged, but not much. Both scabbards are in very good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Incredible to see such lost to time quality in as new condition. You will never ever get another better, so be quick; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference ZY64. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1996 (3.989) 115 x 25 x 28
