No fancy (expensive) brass proof stud with Armfields, just high quaity no nonsense Birmingham workmanship. Etched to George 5th; most likely WW! manufacture.
The 32 1/2 inch well (grey) etched blade has some age, but not very much; it is in remarkably good condition and firm in the hilt. The stainless steel hilt / guard is in very good condition. The black fishskin grip is in good condition; the associated twisted grip wire bindings are also good, but a tiny bit wayward in places. The original leather sword knot has a little age and wear, but is good. The field service leather scabbard and frog straps are a little aged but good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Well above average condition; a collector’s dream. was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference ZY58. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1886 107 X 15 X 16 (2.098).
