Blade ricasso / forte tched to Rogers & Co, 3 New Burlington Street, London. Leather scabbard embossed at top to Wilkinson Sword. Serial number 15959. George V, WW1 era.
The 35 inch blade is in fair condition with wear and patina patches pretty much throughout. Blade form in hilt. Plated bowl guard with plating loss and surface rust to edges. Fishskin grip in faded but good condition, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. Leather sword knot dry and with age / wear. Leather field service scabbard with age / wear, especially around the drag. The sword sheathes and draws well.
