In VGC, an Other Wilkinson made Victorian British Blue & Gilt Courtsword

Not Wilkinson Sword made but that of a competitor, Mr H Wilkinson who, in 1848, establoished himself a few feet from Wilkinson Sword’s own premises under the name “Wilkinsson”. A legal battle ensued and after a year Wilkinson of 30 Cockspur Street was no more, making this sword rarer and therefore even more desirable than a true Wilkinson Sword!
It has a superb blue and gilt etched “colichemarde” blade but no scabbard (worth carefully buying a reproduction or lesser courtsword, using the scabbard and then putting the reproduction / lesser sword into a local auction perhaps?).

The 32 inch blade is supremely well etched and firm in the Georgian style (chain rather than knuckle bow) hilt. The blackened steel beaded / balled hilt / guard is in very good condition, as is the blackened steel grip. Scabbard absent.
Very interesting part of history, this other Wilkinson courtsword is an absolute bargain at just £475. Please quote item reference ZX51. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2032 107 x 16 x 15 (1.31).
