Around 60% of the sheath and hilt is very high silver positive (see blood red acid test photos indicating Sterling Slver levels); the filigree and other is another white metal. Circa 1900.
The 7 1/2 inch steel blade has some age, wear and inert rust (around union with the hilt), but is overall sound to good. The hilt and sheath have fine filigree decorative work but are worn etc. (e.g. the top section of the sheath pulls free, but could be simply glued firm back into place). The jambiya sheathes and draws a bit loosely.
Good honest example at a good low price, just £300. Please quote item reference ZX32. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2015 45 x 35 x 15 (1.397).
