Beware of reproductions! Easy to spot; the inscriptions on the blade spines are laser cut (plus the grips aree basic). This sword is authentic with an inscribed “Colaux et Cie Klingenthal France”, plus a quality grip.
The 35 1/2 inch plain blade has some age (streaks, small freckles) but is good, plus firm in the hilt. The brass hilt / guard is in good shape. The walnut grip is a little aged (fine natural very small hairline cracks) but good; the twisted grip wire bindings are also good. The plated steel scabbard is also aged a little but in good condition; the sword sheathes and draws well.
