With St Etienne maker’s Balp Fils logo (BF with rapier) to blade. Complete with scarce original sword knot (aged / poor condition – knot separated from cord). This one with scarce extended / longer 36 inch blade for tall and / or mounted infantry officers.
The 36 inch plain blade has some wear / age (streaks, slight plating worn throughs) but is still in good condition and firm in the hilt. The anodized steel guard and hilt is in good shape / condition but with tiny age speckles. The blackened / ebonised grip is in good condition but the twisted grip wire decoration has some losses. The steel scabbard has some inert small rust spots and several dings but is still good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
