Unknown royal cypher to blade so unable to date; have reseached many Prussian, German states, Swedish, Dutch, etc cyphers to no avail. Likely made in Potsdam (Brandenburg).
The 25 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The one piece heavy brass hilt / guard / grip has age (tarnish dulling) but it good. The leather with brass reinforcements scabbard is aged but in good order. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Interesting sword with half smooth, half spiral ribbed grip. Going cheap cheap at was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference ZX05. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1978 86 x 18 x 18 (2.054).
