Fine London Made style etching, leather (not fishskin) grip (an officer who expected harsh field use / a shortage of fishskin due to the war), 32 inch bladed 1821P George V sword with no Lightening Bolts (so not an artillery officer’s sword), no maker’s or retailer’s name (so likely late World War One).
The very well etched 32 inch blade has some small patina patches and wear but in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The plated steel hilt / three bar guard with age (some small patches plating worn away with resulting patina) but good. The quality leather grip with wear and age (some small loss patches) but is good. The leather field service scabbard with age and wear (scuffs, drag / chape slightly bent up) but is generally good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Clearly been through the wars but has survived in good condition. Well worth £360. Please quote item reference ZX01. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1974 107 x 14 x 12 (1.42).
