Matching blade and saya / scabbard serial numbers, 140776. A guaranteed authentic World Ware Two Imperial Japanese Army Officers Non Commissioned Officer’s Type 95 Shin Gunto Sword, Saya and Knot in overall good condition.
The 27 1/4 inch blade has some inert rust patches but is otherwise good, plus firm in the hilt. The hilt and tsuba guard are aged and worn with a / the pommel joint / sections showing. The saya scabbard has age / wear but is good. The sword knot has age and the strap is broken but is sound. The sword sheathes and draws well, plus the scabbard locking mechanism works.
