Guaranteed authentic. Seki stamped Imperial Japanese WW2 Army Officer’s Shin Gunto Sword, signed Yoshikane
Standard steel blade with period nicks (patina into nick, no burr) to the cutting edge; this shin gunto has seen active field / combat service.
The 26 inch nagasa (cutting edge section excluding habaki) is in good condition (save for the nicks) and showing a clear hamon, plus is firm in the tsuka (hilt / grip). The tsuka grip / hilt and tsuba guard are in typical aged / worn condition but good. The leather saya scabbard is aged and worn (scratches, small dents / scuffs, etc.) but good. The leather saya retaining strap is very aged / worn and fragile. The sword sheathes and draws well.
