VGC = very good condition. Marked to the Birmingham England maker Deakin & Son to the guard and spine of the blade. The scabbard is authentic but a later replacement, marked to another maker, W L & H Sargant. No crown view / inspection mark or regimental designations, so this 1821p did not enter service with the British army, and it shows by token of the superb condition. Either a private purchase or one intended for export.
The 35 inch plain blade is in very good condition, but has some small inert rust patches (mostly around the point), plus is firm in the hilt. The iconic 3 bar guard and hilt generally are in very good condition with a very attractive steady brown (almost bronze) patina. The ribbed leather grip has a small amount of age but hardly any wear. The heavy steel scabbard is in good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
