A picquet 1854 pattern Senior British Infantry Officer’s Sword and Brass Scabbard. Blade etched with VR Victorian royal cypher plus “Firmin & Sons 153 Strand London” to the forte / ricasso. Slender dress sword weight / width blade.
The slender 32 1/2 inch blade is well etched and in good condition, some wear and small patina patches, firm in the hilt. The gothic brass hilt is good but has a slight inward impression. The polished brass scabbard is in good condition, some slight scuffs around the chape. The swords sheathes and draws well.
