VGC = very good condition. No Wilkinson Sword serial number to the blade’s spine; it appears to have been removed but we can’t understand why. Full battle honours for the Irish Guards etched to the blade.
The supremely well etched 32 1/3 inch blade is in very good condition with very little wear, etc., plus is firm in the hilt. The hilt has some milky light patina / tarnish (fairly easily removed with a good metal finishing polish); the guard’s cartouche with the shamrock emblem / badge of the Irish Guards. The faux fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are good, if a little aged / faded. The plated steel scabbard has some age / freckles etc. but is good. The sword sheathes and draws well. The sword knot good but has some wear.
A superb Wilkinson’s ER2 officer’s sword in great condition for a very reasonable £850. Please quote item reference ZW66. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2173 104 x 13 x 13 (1.95).
