English? Note the EIC style lion to the clam shell guard; most likely the 18C gun sword of an English officer or merchant in the East India Company. Sawback blades are a sign the sword was also intended to cut plants (bamboo etc.) to clear paths. Probably a hunting weapon.
This item is no longer capable of being classed / used as a weapon. BUT we will only ship overseas at the buyer’s sole risk regarding Customs / importation.
The 21 3/8 inch blade is pitted and black with patina, as is the entire weapon. Firm and sound but weakened all round. Wooden grip quite good. Knuckle bow section (nearest the pommel) absent. Firing mechanism seized / rusted in.
A scarce and very intersting wall piece! Just was £? (too late, now sold) makes it a bargain. Please quote item reference ZW56. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2153 73 x 13 x 13 (1.002).
