No maker’s / retailer’s details, plain bladed, likely a regiment’s purchase as a loan sword. Probably circa 1910 after the death of Edward 7th, when future monarchs were possibly deemed temporary. 1897 pattern.
The 32 1/8 inch plain blase has age (patina patches) but is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The blued hilt / guard has lost some colour and has age / wear, especially around the edges, but is good. The fishskin grip is good, the twisted grip wire bindings have a few lesser strands wayward, but are good. The leather field service scabbard and frog suspension straps are aged but fairly sound, the straps weakened with age. The sword sheathes and draws well.
