Clearly antique, worn / aged koftgari to the hilt, with ominous nicks to the cutting edge of the blade; a 19th Century fighting Indo-Persian tulwar sword that has seen conflict. Possibly later scabbard. The blade was set at a slight angle, mirrored by the langets, so not damage but done to ensure the blade at the optimum combat angle.
The 29 5/8 inch blade has age / wear and some nicks to the cutting edge, firm in the hilt. The steel hilt / guard has the worn remains of koftgari, age, wear, but is good. The felt material scabbard is probably later, in aged but good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A very good koftgari hilted 19C Indo-Persian tulwar fighting sword for just £600. Please quote item reference ZW39. Further / full ssized images available upon request. Box 2147 96 x 13 x 13 (1.714).
