Super rare and super expensive normally; don’t take our word for it, ask Google! Though we can send you a screen grab of one a competitor is offering at USD$3,195 + tax. Rare because they were scarce to start with and then the British adminstration punished the Kodava people in 1884 by dumping their weapons far out at sea! This is one of the rare examples that survived, probably a souvenir / trophy taken back to the UK by a British army officer.
Investors: Look, we are selling at way below the likely current market / specialist auction price (see below).
Super rare but we were lucky enough to buy two from a collection; the other 19C Kamataka Kodava Coorg Ayda Katti is here.
The curved 10 3/4 inch steel blade, tipped with ornate brass terminal, has some age but is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The high quality carved hardwood and engraved hilt is aged with some minor scuffing but very good. These weapons never had sheaths / scabbards, so there is none with this.
A super opportunity for a collector or speculator, a rare quality 19C Coorg Ayda Katti for only £1250. Please quote item reference ZW37. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2131 44 x 26 x 17 (1.091).
