Dated “16” (1916) to the blade’s spine, the forte marked ‘J A HENCKELS ZWILLINGWERK’.
The 9 7/8 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt good but the wood panels with fading / wear. The locking pin mechanism is working but stiff. The leather frog with age and wear is still quite good. The browned steel scabbard with scuffs / wear is good. The bayonet sheathes and draws well.
