A Malaysian Keris Lurus Bangsa Agong Besar? Or Indonesian Hulu Pekaka Tajong? Maybe a Peninsular kris with a bit of both! Likewise, age? The blade probably is 19th Century, the “Kingfisher” / Pattani hilt is clearly a replacement, 20C. The sheath also likely is a replacement but probably made for this keris as the fit is very good.
In Java, Indonesia, this type of hilt is similar to “Rajamala“. However, the nose is shorter, and the hulu’s bend is a more upward. Cirebon in north-western Central Java also have Rajamala with shorter noses. Some Javanese keris collectors call the hulu pekakak “Raja Ikan” or “King Fisher”.
Pekakak is a kind of bird from the border of Malaysia and Thailand (Pattani); Latin “Pelargopsis amauroptera”. There are two kinds of pekakak: (a) pekakak hutan (forest pekakak) and (b) pekakak udang (shrimp pekakak).
The 7 luk (curves) wavy blade is in aged but good condition. The Pattani or Kingfisher tropical wood hilt is well / intricately carved and in very good condition; perhaps a tad / little loose but then most are. The sheath / Warangka / Sarung is in good condition, some age & wear. The keris / kris sheathes and draws (plus fits) well.
