Officer’s initials “R. M. S.” engraved to scabbard locket.
The 18 inch blade is worn (etching very feint) and has a small curl to the point (has been dropped on its pointt) but is otherwise quite good, plus is firm in the hilt. The brass hilt is good; there is no scabbard locking mechanism. The leather and gilt brass scabbard has wear and a slight bend to the leather, plus denting to the fittings, but is quite good still. The dirk sheathes and draws well.
