Forte stamped “WSC” for Wilkinson Sword Company, and “7 47” for July 1947.
A formidable looking ceremonial sword that was used by the British Royal Household Cavalry during the reighn of King George 6th and Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
The plain 74 inch blade is in good condition but has vice dents at the forte where the blade was reseated / replaced at some point. Blade firm in the hilt. The plated steel guard / hilt is good but has scrape wear to an edge and the backpiece has a small gap with the grip just under the pommel. he fishskin grip has wear but is good; the twisted grip wire bindings are very good. The plated steel scabbard with a little age and a small graze is otherwise very good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
