True Damascus blades. Rare three blade version (the outer, slightly shorter blades are sprung to open when the jamiya is drawn). Very fine decoration. Qajar period (late 18th to early 20th century), circa 1880.
The 12 inch central (principle) exceptional true Damascus blade is in very good condition; the slightly smaller sprung Damascus side blades are also very good, the curled metal spring mechanism good and working well. Blades firm in the hilt. The beautifully decorated hilt / grip and sheath are a little aged / worn but still very very good. The Jambiya draws well; care needed to squeeze the side blades flat against the main central blade when sheathing.
