Likely made by Wislkinson Sword for Firmin as they did and the blade’s etched logo is basically the Wilkinson “W” logo but with an “F”. We bought this ERII British naval / navy officer’s sword from the Ministry of Defence.
The 31 inch well etched blade is mostly in good condition but increasingly shows signs of age (plating loss / discoloration etc.) the closer you get to the point. Blade firm in hilt. The gilt brass hilt is in very good condition, so too are the faux fishsking grip and associated twicted grip wire bindings. The folding guard section works but does not locate onto the scabbard pin. The leather and gilt brass fittings scabbard is good but the leather shows age towards the chape. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A stunning ERII Royal Naval Officer’s Sword by Firmin, well worth £475. Please quote item reference ZV11. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2030 103 x 13 x 13 (1.66).
