Genuine Wilkinson Sword but the serial number to the blade’s spine has been filed off for whatever reason; we bought this sword from the MOD (Ministry of Defence) so know it is authentic.
The well etched 30 3/4 inch blade has patina freckles and patches throughout but is in sound condition and firm in the hilt. The gilt brass hilt is in good condition, as are the faux fishskin grip (some small grubby spots) and twisted grip wire bindings (some lesser strands slightly wayward). The leather and brass fittings scabbard is aged and very tight; the folding guard section of the hilt does not locate on the scabbard’s pin.
An impressive example, just £450. Please quote item reference ZV09. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2032 100 x 13 x 13 (1.98).
