AF = as found / seen, the blade has rust pitting patches and the saya / scabbard has been later painted black, hence the low price.
Guaranteed authentic. Most NCO shin guntos are post war copies. You can tell this one is authentic by the sarute loop size and fact the bohi blade grove goes almost as far as the habaki brass blade collar.
Matching serial numbers to the blade and the saya throat and blade. Serial number 75926 for mid war.
The 27 1/4 inch blade has a few period nicks plus inert rust pitting patches; firm in the tsuka / grip / hilt. The hilt is in aged and worn but very good condition given its active service life. The blackened steel scabbard is good. The sword sheathes and draws well; the saya locking mechanism works well.
