Just look at the blade; clearly traditionally forged, unlike most 19C Sudanese Kaskara swords.
The traditional forged 34 3/4 inch blade is in aged condition with wear and patina patched, but remains good and firm in the hilt. The steel crucible cross guard is in good condition. The leather grip has sectional loss next to the guard; otherwise quite good. The leather scabbard with inscribed decoration is in good condition but is missing its metal throat. The sword sheathes and draws tightly due to scabbard leather dryness shrinkage.
