Includes leather field service scabbard and sword knot. This VR 1897P British Infantry Officer’s Wilkinson Sword’s serial number is 37847 for 1900.
The 32 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt / guard with a feint milky age related tarnish (would remove and shine bright with a good metal finishing polish such as Simichrome) is in very good condition otherwise (NB: we can not attest to the condition under the tight leather knot strap, but believe it to be good). The fishskin grip is in good condition but is worn / aged a little; the associated twisted grip wire bindings are worn but good). The leather sword knot and field service scabbard are both good, but with scuffs, age and wear. The sword sheathes and draws well.
