The blade (and) hilt has / have been replated, so the etching is feint. 1821 Pattern, circa mid to late World War One as no maker’s or retailer’s name etched to the ricasso / forte (often a sign that the sword was required without delay).
The 33 3/4 inch blade has feint etching but is otherwise very good and firm in the hilt. The plated steel hilt / 3 bar guard has some age / wear but remains good. The small nodule fishskin grip is in good condition, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The leather field service scabbard is aged / worn . scuffed but still fairly good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
