English or Scottish, circa 1780. The clamshell guard depicting a Lyre, a symbol for Apollo, master of the bow and arrow, the Greek God for Huntsmen / Hunting.
The 21 1/2 inch sawback blade is pitted and with a steady patina throughout, but firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard is aged but good though with a small piece missing to the pommel’s “skirt”. The staghorn red deer antler grip is aged but very good. Scabbard absent.
