Guaranteed authentic Osborn Napoleonic British 1796P light cavalry trooper’s sword, with a later correct scabbard. Marked “Osborn” (a high quality maker in Birmingham England) to the blade’s spine and a feint crown over 2 British view / inspection mark to the blade’s forte; the later proof that the sword was bought by the British Government / Army and issued.
The 32 1/2 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt and grip. The stirrup hilt / guard with some age / light rust spots is good. The leather grip also good (some wear and small patch losses). The later replacement scabbard is in very good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well but the scabbard needs to be wriggled / jiggled to get the sword fully sheathed as the langets are tight against the scabbard.
