Kavalerie Degen 1889 / 1889M Prussian Cavalry Sword. No maker’s name, no regimental markings; probably mid-WW1. This may well be a war trophy / UK veteran bring back. Rare curved blade variant; most curved blade versions were for export, but this has the Prussian eagle for the guard with no sign it is a replacement blade as the scabbard is obviously made for the blade.

The 30 1/4 inch blade has been sharpened and is in good condition, plus firm in the hilt. The solid (not folding) Prussian Eagle hilt is good. The composite grip good but with some marks. The original sword knot is worn and frayed. The steel scabbard with wear is nonetheless good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A good rare example at a decent price: was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z91. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1629 golf (1.696).
