The maker’s mark is double stamped, but clearly says “Paris”. This is the 1882 variant of the m1854 with a single scabbard suspension loop / ring.
The 36 1/4 inch plain curved blade is good but has patina towards the point; the blade is firm in the grip. The hilt / guard with a little distortion is nonetheless good. The grip is in good condition and the grip wire binding is present and good. The steel scabbard is very good; some wear, tarnish and small dings. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice example, nicer price; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z68. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1597-golf (1.788).
