Etched “Wm Anderson & Sons Ltd. Military Outfitters Edinburgh & Glasgow” to the ricasso / forte, a George V / World War One era British Royal Artillery Officer’s Sword, Scabbard and sword knot strap (remains).
The 34 3/4 inch well etched blade is in good condition, some patina patches, some wear, but not too much, and is firm in the grip / hilt. The hilt with some tarnish and wear is nonetheless good. The black fishskin grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings are both good. The leather sword knot; only a fragile strap remains (one piece detached). The leather field service scabbard with age and scuffs is still good however, though the suspension frog loop is aged, cracked and frail. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice Scottish British Royal Artillery officer’s sword at a canny price, just a wee was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z48. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1588-golf (1.885).
