Dated August 1840 to the spine of the blade, a Chatellerault made French M1833 Le Sabre d’ Abordage with iconic falchion blade.

The 26 1/2 blade with anchor engravings / etchings on both sides is in good condition but with nicks to the cutting edge, firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard with age / inert rust pitting and a couple off small dents is good, as is the grip. The leather and metal fittings scabbard has age, the leather surface peeling / flaking off in places, the metal chape detaches (can simply / easily be glued firm), but is sound to good. The cutlass sheathes and draws well.
Iconic boarding cutlass at a very low price; just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Z39. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1560-101x18x17 (2.143).
