Very unique sword in that there is no maker’s or retailer’s name etched to the blade, but rather grammatically incorrect “London Make Proved Blade”; never, ever seen this before. Well grey etched if a little rudimentary, the sword has a rifle officer’s sword knot and the right amount of age to be WW1.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is well etched with a few small light rust patches (now oiled prior to packing). Blade fit in the hilt. The steel hilt, more typical of a Sheffield made sword, is in very good condition. The black fishskin and twisted grip wire binding are both good. The black sword knot has age but is good. The leather field service scabbard has scuffs and age but is good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
