Made by Fenton Brothers of Sheffield (Sword Cutlers to the War Office). Complete with Scabbard, Knot, Frog and Belts. Also, marked “A1 DWR” to the spine; we have no idea what that is an abbreviation for.
The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The quality Sheffield steel hilt / guard is very good with minimal rust / patina. The superb large nodules fishskin grip is in good condition (some minimal small wear patches), as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The knot is a little aged but the strap may be later is good. The leather field service is good but has wear, scrapes, etc. The frog is aged; the frog strap likely a replacement. The sword sheathes and draws well.
