Etched to Fraser & Davis to the ricasso, and to the top scabbard locket (Fraser & Davis Portsmouth), Fraser & Davis operated in the High Street Portsmouth from 1857 to 1890.

The 31 inch blade is aged with wear, patina and some pitting, but the etching is still clear. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard mostly good, age and wear aside. The white fishskin grip is no longer white but is good, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The original sword knot is aged with wear, fraying, etc. but is sound. The leather and brass scabbard is aged but good except that it has a break (covered by black tape). The folding guard section works well and locates as it should on the securing pin of the top scabbard locket. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Honest example, honestly low price; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Y69. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1469-117x15x14 (1.985).
