Plain bladed version by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co / Cie of Solingen.
The 30 3/4 inch plain blade has some age / light rusty patches but is generally good and firm in the hilt. The hilt with its two folding guard sections (both fold shut and hold when open) is in very good though aged condition. The ivorine (faux ivory) grip has a little hairline crack one side; the twisted grip wire bindings are very good if a little bunched under the backpiece. The leather and brass scabbard is a little aged but good; the top locket is loose and there is a small gap between the top of it and the hilt when sheathed due to the fact the felt scabbard washer / buffer pad is missing from the blade.
Good, honest example at a very reasonable price; (was) £850, now £680 . Please quote item reference Y31. Further / full sized images upon request. Box 1423-102x19x16 (1.757).
