Actually a scarce sword as it is an officer’s (private purchase) sword and Mole made very very few of these (the vast majority of their swords we made for the War Office).
The 34 5/8 inch blade is well though faintly etched and in very good condition, firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard very good; some age but not too much. Fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings in very good condition. The field service leather scabbard is good but with some wear to chape / drag. Leather frog and straps good but aged.
A well well above average example and of a scarce Mole officer’s sword. Grab it quick; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Y11. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1390-122x14x14 (1.963).
