This style / pattern of sword dates to around 1650. The English Civil War was actually a series of small wars from 1642 to 1651 which saw the end of monarchical rule and the unification of the British Isles. So, even if this sword dates to the end of the civil war proper, it no doubt saw some very important times / events.

The 29 inch blade has a steady patina, some nicks, some pitting towards the point and has lost the very tip of that point. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt has an old break of the center knuckle bow bar close to the guard. The twisted wire grip is overall good but has lost the upper “Turks Head” ferrule exposing a small section of grip wood base.
It’s old. It’s rare. It may have been at war. It is only was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number Y05. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1373-123x20x20 (1.914).
