Serial number 48987 for circa 1916; unfortunately the Wilkinson sales ledger for this period is missing, so it is not possible to research the original officer owner.
The 32 1/2 inch blade is in very good condition, some wear / age but not too much, and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard in very good condition, some light surface scouring but not much. Fishskin grip and associated grip wire binding in good condition. Remains of sword knot; acorn missing. Leather field service scabbard in very god condition for age. The sword sheathes and draws well.
